We offer specialised Educational Programs suitable for both local and international students, encompassing a range of activities which focus on the abundant natural assets in and around the Flinders Ranges.

The area has a rich Aboriginal heritage and we offer students the opportunity to interact with the Adnyamathanha People. Participants will learn about the history, culture, and lifestyle of the traditional Aboriginal inhabitants, and their interaction with this special place and the area's unique plants and animals.
The Adnyamathanha people are part of the oldest living culture on the planet.The origins of the Adnyamathanha people are told through creation stories, passed down from generation to generation.
The owners of Wilpena Pound Resort, they coordinate Yura Cultural Immersion Programs, allowing students to experience Aboriginal culture, history and traditions first hand, from the Traditional Owners of the Ikara Flinders Ranges.
Participants are immersed in the living Aboriginal culture of outback South Australia, where the local Adnyamathanha people still converse in their traditional language, and cook using local produce and hunted meats.
Tailor made programs of varying lengths are available.
Wilpena Pound resort has 60 resort rooms sleeping between 2 to 6 people. Ikara Safari Camp has 15 safari style tents and can sleep up to 34 people in total.
The Wilpena Pound Campground has 40 powered campsites, and over 300 unpowered campsites spread over 50 hectares of native Australian bush.
Our camping ground has campfire pits and barbeques, three shower and toilet blocks, two laundry areas, picnic tables and shelters, and laundry facilities. Petrol, gas, ice and firewood are available at the adjoining General Store.
The Flinders Ranges is the largest mountain range in South Australia and is world renowned for it's geological history, including impressive fossil remains. The area has a unique terrestrial ecosystem, as well as a rich Aboriginal heritage on which to base educational and research programs for students.
